Most tallow on the market seem the same, but there are critical differences that affect how well they work for the skin. Here's why ours stand out:
Grass-finished. Not Grass-fed
Grass-fed means the cow was fed grass in some periods of it's life. Grass-finished means the cow grazed freely and was fed only grass from when it was born to when it was processed. This makes the tallow more nutrient-dense than grass-fed tallow.
Better absorbtion from suet tallow
We use true suet tallow. Rendered exclusively from the nutrient-dense fat surrounding grass-finished cattle kidneys. It contains more beneficial vitamins and fatty acids. It is also more biocompatible and pure than regular tallow.
Low heat, slow process
High heat makes processing faster, but kills a lot of the good stuff in tallow. We wet render slowly multiple times to evenly heat and remove all impurities for the best quality tallow possible. Even during the mixing process we take a slow, low heat approach to preserve all nutrients in our raw ingredients. This process takes us 3 days to complete one batch but it's worth it.
